A generic suggestion- try them on to see if one fits better than the other; bring your pants and skates with you to see how they fit. I agree with leafs, try on pads for yourself at a local pro shop with your skates and pants to make sure that the pads integrate with your other gear.
Its a matter of personal preference. I have worn aeroflex, brian's. That will also factor into your choice. As a stand up goalie you might want a stiffer pad than a butterfly net minder would. Good luck!!! How do you think about the answers? You can sign in to vote the answer. Tim K.

I got to meet Brian at the Hockey Expo in St. Paul, MN in the early 's. Attached is the sticker that I proudly wear on my skull plate in his remembrance see pic. Yes, my mask was made by Jerry Wright but I have hidden Mr. Brian literally changed the game for us goalies. Truly custom. Just received new to me Heaton 5 glove and blocker.
Anyways, just curios if I can get info about the H5 glove. Since everything of the GSBB has been wiped off the face of the internet I was able to fine Heaton information here but not what I was looking for. I've inserted pics of both the glove and blocker. The glove is model and blocker is a model. Was the a senior version made with lesser grade material as oppose to the ?
The jenpro on the does feel less in quality than the The H5 logo is heat printed on the glove and on the blocker is a raised rubber logo. Any info will be helpful. Enjoy the pic. Mostly just bummed to learn that GSBB is completely wiped—even when it was a dead forum, those old threads like the Heaton ones had some great information, much of which is probably going to be "lost to history" at this point.
I almost had the opportunity to get my hands on one a few years ago. Sadly the guy disappear on me after a few messages. So true. And so disappointing because as you stated, even though the board was no longer active I was still able to go there and search for anything and everything goalie equipment.
Still cant believe I got the dreaded http not found page when I was gonna search about these Heatons. I have a senior Helite 90Z junior; the saddest thing is that it could easily pass as a modern senior-sized glove. I am going to do a few upgrades including to the palm so I can take shots with modern sticks.
I will most likely show pix later Not entirely lost. Luckily this website has taken snippets of the page over time and you are able to browse to some extent on there. It would require someone to comb through each page to gather the information and compile it, but it's there if anyone is willing to wander around blindly on the webpage.Since MAN, focused on activities in the areas of transport and energy, that offer long-term global opportunities.

By shooter27December 26, in Goal Equipment. What was the first box-style pad, with a truly flat sliding surface engineered for the butterfly style? Is it possible they were the first? The first pad truly designed to facilitate lateral butterfly movements was probably the first generation Velocity, designed by Pete Smith.
Yes, there were flat pads, like what Barrasso wore also designed by Smiththat provided a more stable surface to seal to the ice. But those were not meant to be worn loose or rotate on the goalie's leg, nor did they have a landing block to keep the pad square to the ice. There were only a few gear designers that innovated the gear to suit the new style that pros wanted.
Other than Smith, you had Michel Lefebvre, who designed the gear for Koho working with Roy and the Allaire brothers to develop butterfly style pads and then designed the first RBK Premier line that was so familiar. Senior Goalie Leg Pads
By all means, please correct the incorrect-- I'd rather have it accurate. Well I know he trained for the Olympic teams too, there's a photo of it in his office : I'll ask him to take a look at this! Thanks again, Juice. What happened to the beautiful hair he had while playing for U of M Glad life turned out good for him. Post a Comment. Usually, I don't do guys who have had fewer than some games in the the NHL, but I think I'll make an exception on this for a number of reasons. First, he had those fantastic Aeroflex pads, which were before their time.
This week, we look at the career of Matt DelGuidice. He would play 24 games with a record, but sported a solid. After that, DelGuidice moved to bigger condition by joining the University of Maine team, but had to sit out the season because of his transfer.
Coming back in the season, DelGuidice split time with Scott King, playing in 20 games with a record, then going in the post-season. Back for the season, DelGuidice would play 23 games behind King with another record and yet another record in the post-season in five games of play.
With his college career over, DelGuidice went into the pro ranks with the Maine Mariners of the AHL for the season, where he would take over the starter's role in playing 52 games with a respectable record, as well as a record in two playoff games. DelGuidice also got a call-up to Boston, where he would play in one game in relief of Andy Moog.
The season saw DelGuidice take over the back-up role out of training camp and getting some time in net during his two stints in Boston. He would get 10 games in for Boston, going As he was put back to the AHL, he wouldn't fair so well with the Mariners with a record in 25 appearances.
As the Bruins affiliate moved to Providence in the season, so did DelGuidice, but he would only play nine games with Providence, with an record. Without a contract in the NHL with the season, DelGuidice would bounce around the minor leagues, spending most of his time with the Raleigh IceCaps of the ECHL, playing in 31 games with a solid record, then a record in the playoffs.
It was another nomadic year for DelGuidice in the season, where he would play in the ECHL, mostly for the Nashville Knights; where in 18 games, he would post a record and record in two playoff games.
